There’s no single way to build a residency.
The Division of the Arts supports several flexible models designed to align with your specific goals, timelines, and campus partnerships.

Unit-Led
Connect an artist to a department, center, museum, or major institutional milestone.
Best for: Major initiatives • Milestones • Institutional engagement

Partner Collaboration
Work with an artist on focused, high-impact short-term experiences and community programming.

Sponsorship & Seeding

International Visiting Artist Program (IVAP)
Bring global perspectives to campus.
The International Visiting Artist Program (IVAP) supports focused, short-term residencies with internationally recognized artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners. A collaborative initiative of the Division of the Arts and the International Division, IVAP creates opportunities for global artists who might not otherwise have the opportunity to share their work, expertise, and perspectives in the United States. Developed in collaboration with campus and community partners, IVAP residencies foster deep cross-cultural exchange.

Engagement Opportunities: Workshops • Classes • Performances • Exhibitions • Talks • Screenings • Research • Community Engagement
