Keep an eye out for the annual Arts Business Competition, where students can win up to $2,000 for their creative ideas! Past winners include a public art collaboration, a clothing line, and a 3-D printed saxophone mouthpiece.

The UW–Madison Division of the Arts recognizes excellence in undergraduate arts research. Grants include the Judson Student Awards in the Creative Arts and The Studio Awards in the Creative Arts. Each department and college has scholarships and professional development opportunities for their students. For example, the Marcia Légère Student Play Festival gives students the chance to produce original theatre.

First Wave is a cutting-edge multicultural artistic program for incoming students which offers a four-year full tuition scholarship to the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Bringing together young artists and leaders from across the United States and beyond, the First Wave Learning Community offers students the opportunity to live, study, and create together in a close-knit, dynamic campus community. First Wave is the first university program in the country centered on urban arts, spoken word and hip-hop culture.
