Town Hall Meetings
The UW Arts Institute would like to invite faculty, staff, and students to a series of town hall meetings to discuss the proposal for establishing a College of the Arts at UW. There will be three separate meetings held; you are welcome to attend any or all of them:
- Monday, February 20, 1:00-3:00 PM
- Monday, February 27, 7:00-9:00 PM (Note: this meeting will likely focus largely on issues related to the School of Music; however, anyone is welcome to attend.)
- Tuesday, February 28, 5:00-7:00 PM
All meetings will be held in the Grainger Hall Plenary Room (#1310).
We welcome all members of the campus community to attend or to otherwise provide their insights. A brief presentation will be made followed by ample time for attendees to ask questions, bring up concerns, or offer suggestions on the proposal. Supporting documents, including committee notes and history of the proposal, are available for your examination at http://arts.wisc.edu/artsinstitute/cota/. (Note - this site will be updated regularly as more documentation is produced and edited, so please continue to keep an eye on it! We anticipate that the full proposal will be ready for review on February 17. Any questions about meeting details or website information can be directed to Tim Hamilton, UW Arts Institute Project Assistant, at tjhamilton@wisc.edu.)
Please also note that these are informational meetings only and no decisions about the proposal will be called for at that time. Formal governance procedures, including departmental committee votes, will follow these meetings as scheduled by your department or program.
We hope you are able to attend, and we look forward to your questions, comments, and ideas.
